Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic islands and certainly the most beautiful. In Mallorca you can have everything: sea, mountains, hills. The name comes from the latin language "insula major "- big island-and was later called Majorica. Mallorca and the Balearic Islands belong to Spain.
Mallorca is about 98 km long and 78 km wide - resulting in a size of 3,603,715 km ².
It has a coastline of 550 km and the first place is certainly the Serra de Tramuntana - a mountain range up to 15 kilometers wide with 10 peaks over 1,000 meters, which ends at the northwest coast. The mountain covers over 90 kilometers. The highest point approximately in the middle of the mountain range is 1445 meters,
called Puig Major. The capital Palma de Mallorca should not be forgotten. Palma de Mallorca - only this name can arouse summer feelings. Palma is the headquarter of the government of the Balearic Islands and all the important offices of Mallorca. The metropolis with its 400,000 residents offers a picturesque harbor atmosphere,
